Sub-groups:
A. Activity team
B. Fund raising team

2. Lost Animal Souls Shelter (LASS) & Sam's Fur Kids
Mans best friend is overlooked, ignored and kicked to the side at the best of times and more often then we like to admit is abused, neglected and kept in conditions or ciscumstances that can only be described as torture.
LASS has 200 dogs under its care providing a place that they will be fed, cared for and most importantly feel safe and unthreathened.

Sub-groups:
A. Dog adoption team
B. Fund raising team

At last, I have chosen LASS as my community service because I have experiences in contributing help to orphanage and disabilities homes during my secondary schoold years. So this time, I took the chance to add on dog adoption activity into my own experience in the community service module.

I am fortunate enough to get in hand with the fund raising team as we get to design merchandises such as recycle bags and badges, with each items sold, the profits will all transfer to LASS. Most importantly, We are also very fortunate to get the aprovement from Han Zhen Arts, who was a child with autism who produces pieces and pieces of dog potraits masterpieces, printed on the recycle bags that were ready for the fund raising program. But beforehand, we had attended workshops set up by the shelter's owner, Mr Sam in Kuala Selangor to have a basic knowledge in taking care of the shelter dogs.

The first activity was about teamworks, whih each of us have to transfer bricks from outside of the shelter into the dogs garden itself to build a new quarantine room to the dogs. But as the there may be more incoming stray dogs into the shelter, more quarantine room need to be built as the room is used to let the new dogs to familiarize space, get to know that they are not in harm anymore, and in hope that they will be more friendly and calm when the quarantine period ends. This is why the charity is held to collect funds to build new quarantine rooms for the dogs.

The second activity was to help in bathing the dogs, which is the most fun experience that I had. From this activity, we get to know how to get familiarize to the dogs as we are all strangers to them, and how to approach the more shy and timid dogs, how to calm the more tense ones, and get them to bath in the pool. Moreover, we also get to know the correct sequence of bathing the dog so they won't get hurt and scare off, such as start the bathing by pouring water little by little on their body to let them feel the temperature of the water, and also not to get their ears contact with the water as it might cause inflammation.

As the workshopw has ended the first few weeks, the fund raising and dog adoption events have started. Starting from designing merchandises, to finding the venue for the charity to be held, it was all well planned and conducted. The places that we have been to promote our event were in Desa Parkcity in Kepong and Dog Park beside 1 Utama Shopping Mall as both of these places are the famous destinations for dog lovers and their pet dogs to hang out in. And the events that have held to during the final week were at Jaya One Complex in Petaling Jaya and in Sid's Handler Bar which has constantly setting up flee markets, bazaar and charity programs in their exteem place.

There is no doubt that I have learnt alot in this program and another valuable memory and experience has been added into my life journey. But in the same time, It is sad to see that there are still growing numbers of not only dogs, but other pets that had been neglected and abondoned by their owners, but through the events that we have held, we hope that the awareness of animal abondoned issue in the country has been raise to our community. Always remember that us human may have alot of friends and functions to to go to or to take care of, or even there are many other pets that we have taken care of in our lives, but pets have only us as their lifetime partners. So stop buying pets from pet store, start adopting, to let the abondoned animal to feel being loved and care of.
