Project 2-Construction Detail And Specification

Based on the design in Architectural Design Studio 2's final project, the retreat house, students have to point out 3 special features in the design of retreat house, with the suitable timber and steel construction detail, and provide the appropriate construction details based on the design. And the information collected should be compile in one A2 board for submission.

Description

The name of my retreat house is The Healing Garden, which is for a psychotherapist. The 3 special features I choosed in my retreat house are the wooden louver, spider joint on french window and the bamboo door at the main entrance. I found a lot of the construction detail from websites and books which allows this project to be completed smoothly.

Reflective

Through this project, I gained a pratical knowledge about the contruction requirements and details for the features in my model design. I am satisfied with the information on the A2 board, but there was a mistake that I made which was I didn't include the referencing list, and the presentation board was stained during submission, and missed the submission time too, so I am not really confident about the grade that I will get, but I do gained a better understanding about the construction process.
