Introduction

 

This subject allows students to make their design to be more environmental friendly, sustainable and energy savings in terms of passive designings, thermal control and material used for the building.Our group's tutor of this module is Ms. Salvi.

 

This subject include only 1 project, which is building design observation - Case Study: Analysing passive design strategies. This project required students to choose a site which has observable and discussable passive designs, and conduct a site visit to the building. After the visit, students are required to make 2 A2 boards, concluding the details of the passive designs used in the building, such as pros and cons, construction details, sun path and wind path. This project allows students understand the site's condition and design strategies of the chosen building.
