Intoduction

 

Building Science 2 emphasizes on the lighting and acoustic performances in achitecture and design. It introduces deeper knowledge about the 2 of the most important element in a building to the students, in terms of the physics of both of the elements, the type and characterics, as well as the possible source and solution to enhance the lighting and acoustic performance within a building.

It helps students to get their design studio into a more realistic path in terms of implementing a more overall consideration about providing better lighting and acoustic quality in their studio design.

The module has 2 projects that need to complete, including project 1, which required students to conduct a case study in an existing buiding regarding the lighting and acoustic performances, and project 2 is to analyse student's design studio 5 project's lighting and acoustic quality within the designed spaces.
