Reflective

I was once told, and it has been always been a believe throughout the degree where the creativity of students will eventually be restricted as the semesters gone further, this myth sometimes haunts me because architecture is like art, a combination of limitless creativity and innovativity, I'm always the rebel person, I would be devastated if my own design is being framed and told to be done in such ways, but in the end I can tell, all is just nothing but a myth. I'm very glad and appreciate that my lecturers throughout the semesters allowed me to be wild and assisted the process to keep moving towards the end results, sometimes my opinions may be too extreme to take, and they were all patient and put out comments selflessly to make the design and my degree journey to better. I must admit that although my results are below expectation, but there is no doubt that I have a blast in the design studio modules, and neverthless, the groupworks and tasks and friends that have succeed this degree from highs and lows. I'll always remember the contribution of my studio lecturers who help us throughout the projects, Mr Nazmi, Mr Keith, Mr Alvin, Ms Indrani and nonetheless, Mr Prince, who marks the start and end of my degree, he embraces our flaws, mistakes and stuborness, and still manage to guide us towards success. This degree has taught me ways to handle stress, multitasking, communication, deal with failures and get back up again, this whole degree experience is an unforgettable, well, despite all the nights we been up and downs we've been through, it is truly a precious milestone of my life.

PUTRAJAYA

Putrajaya is the official governmental district where local and foreign authorities are placed. The strong stereotype of Putrajaya is dedicated only for working class and governmental administratives, visitors are rare to be seen, prohibiting new incomers to enter the area, causing the definition of creating garden intelligent city to be restricted and unservable to the community.

YOUTH ENGAGEMENT CENTRE

Putrajaya portraits the principles of formality, leadership and intergrity, as youth represents the future of the naion, the proposed Youth Engagement Centre could be emerged as a youth hub, with engaging programmes of training and volunteering activities, encourage the involvement of youth into the local community, as well as to become a public urban park for the people and locals to intensify community integration, and most importantly, enhance the image of Putrajaya, of being both Garden and Intelligent City.

Maximising visual transparency for the clarity of movement within the building as the main attraction strategy to encourage visitors to enter the centre. The elevated bridge connecting both main volumes suggests connectivity between spaces and visual permeability form the main road towards the lake.

GROUND FLOOR

As the overall theme of the project is to create an urban park, as corresponds to the existing parks all around other precincts, other than the required spaces, the ground floor area is kept as open as possible to maximize visual and circulation permeability to enhance the feeling of the ground floor as part of the landscape of the park.

Another reason that caused Putrajaya seems to be isolated and uncelebrated is because of their opaque facades which the causes the movement within cannot be seen, exerting the feeling of unwelcome and causes avoidance of people to the city. Therefore, the use of large area of floral pattern ventilation blocks allow the visibility of movement within, and also while the sunlight is casted above, the floral shadows will be projected on the floor, further enhancing the urban park environment in the interior spaces, Moreover, with the rotation angle of the plaza, the curvy wooden facade structures appears to be shifting in and out, with the movement of people within, produce a flow of visual rhythm, engaging people's curiosity and interest to explore the centre.
