This project allows the students to find a community in needs and build structures based on their needs by using recycled and reusable materials, to truly help the community in improving their living conditions and qualities.
Description
Happy Mansion is a flat located in Petaling Jaya, the residents there are mainly elderlies and children. The main problem of Happy Mansion was that the lack of of benches. Therefore, we started from designing the benches and find the suitable materials for this project. The benches that we built were made by recycled tyres and wood planks, they were designed based on the human ergonomics which can be seen in the report above. Other than that, we also painted the wall behind the field with the theme 'Red Mushroom' so that the environment of the field can be lightened up and become lively and bright. The video of this project can be seen by clicking the link at the bottom of the report cover.
Reflective
This project allow us to practically built the benches by ourselves, which started from only screws and tyres. There were no limitation for the all-girls-group like us in either physically of pratically as we're able to construct the benches on our own, we also get a lot of support by the residents of Happy Mansion. We are really appreciate the space and time given by the residents and also the chairman, which allow us to complete this task smoothly and successfully.
