Reflective

I've been to the Tung Shin Hospital quite a few times but never really get to know thw history of this place. This project gave me the oppurtunity to know more about this historical place in Kuala Lumpur, we actually really glad that there is still a library in the hospital where most of the history information of Tung Shin Hospital is kept, we learned a lot throught this journey because we analysed the architecture styles of the buildings in Tung Shin Hospital by ourselves by going through the lecture slides and web pages, we learned more about the specific features during the specific modern era and able to identify the styles of them. 

Description

 

 

Tung Shin Hospital is a traditional chinese medical hospital which located at the Jalan Pudu, Kuala Lumpur. It was first sponsored by Kapitan Yap Kwan Seng in 1881 because of the glory of tin mining industry during the British colonial period in Malaya, chinese population increase as many of the Chinese tin miners came from China, they would get hurt or sick from their work, this hospital was built for the purpose of giving a better medical services for them. The hospital been through many deconstruction and rebuilt process, the architects were not able to be identified but the remain modern features of the buildings in the hospital can still be seen until today. Project 2-Tung Shin Hospital (Web Book)

 

 

This aim of this project was to let the students to analyse one of the modern architecture located in Klang Valley. Students will start this project from zero as from finding the suitable modern architecture, get permission fromt the authority of the place and start analysing and finally, produce a web book that covers all the required history details and analysis of the modern architecture.
