Project 3 - Animation (The Therapist)
After all the modelling, interior and exterior renderings are done for our chosen building, we are required to make an animation as an virtual introduction to the spaces contained in the building. In this case, I planed to make an animation which contains 4 parts of renderings, including the start of the storyline and the guidance to the spaces in the retreat house.
As the client for the retreat house is for a therapist, the storyline of the animation is that a patient, which suffered from depression by the words of the people, the chaoticness of the city until a point that she is in need for help, this is why she is guided to the house of the therapist, to search for peace and relaxation.
This scene is to show the components consist in the retreat house. I separated the components into 3 parts, showing the 3 main spaces of the retreat house, then further separate them into roofs, walls, floors, furnitures and windows and doors. They are all moved to a specific height for the effect of drop down components onto the ground.
The Axonometric scene is created by making the camera moving in a circular motion, this is why a circle is drawn around the retreat house
The movement of the camera is created by using 'Path Constaint, which the path at first was drawn using lines
The frame numbers are changed to suit the specific scene
The scene with decided camera path, frame numbers and speed of animation is then rendered
Final scene of the video
I've created a short introduction scene and bring it into iMovie for animation making. As the speed of the animation created in 3Ds Max is faster than I expected, so I speed it down in iMovie.
The sound effects are downloaded from Youtube to match the storyline of the animation
The sound effects are overlapped to make the feeling that i want in the intro

I was not into computer softwares back in the days, I found this module is really hard as I'm not familiar with computerings, especially in using a computer to make a 3D model. I was first introduced to the first architectural computer software during short sem, which was Autocad, that was the first step for me to start this computer application journey. Fortunately from the lecture from this module's tutor, Mr Koh and the guidance by other friends, I get to be understand more on the digital applications, using Rhinoceros and 3Ds Max. Start from zero, I am really glad that I've learned a lot through this module which would definitely benefits my career in the future and also my design presentation skills.
